Во-первых, попробуйте -vo xv.
Далее, вывод glxinfo, есть ли вообще колеса glxgears.
А вообще google на это дает конкретный ответ:

hi,
this here piece of info comes from "
http://home.comcast.net/%7Eandrex/De...tallation.html "
it speaks of editing your config file.
you prolly don't have an XF86Config-4 file cos you use xorg, but maybe you can check some settings in the xorg confilg file ("/etc/X11/xorg.conf"). be careful, messing up that config file may lock ytou out of your desktop, as you probably know.
here goes:
Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4:
* In the "Module" section, be sure that you have a line
Load "glx"
and remove or comment out (prepend with a #) any lines that refer to the "dri" or "GLCore" modules.
* In the "Device" section for your video card, be sure you have a line
Driver "nvidia"
An open-source alternative is the "nv" driver, which has 2D but no 3D capabilities.
end of info, good luck!
